Hypocrises of Barack Obama – US Senate Candidate Elizabeth Warren

By Charles Keegan

Elizabeth Warren has made many bold statements in her run for the Massachusetts seat in the US Senate.  Warren took shots at the wealthy and corporations during a 2011 speech.  “There is nobody in this country who got rich on his own, nobody. You built a factory out there—good for you! But I want to be clear.  You moved your goods to market on the roads the rest of us paid for.  You hired workers the rest of us paid to educate.  You were safe in your factory because of police forces and fire forces that the rest of us paid for.  You didn’t have to worry that marauding bands would come and seize everything at your factory, and hire someone to protect against this, because of the work the rest of us did.  Now look, you built a factory and it turned into something terrific, or a great idea—God bless. Keep a big hunk of it.  But part of the underlying social contract is you take a hunk of that and pay forward for the next kid who comes along”.

Hypocrises of Barack Obama – Florida Senator Bill Nelson

By Charles Keegan

Senator Bill Nelson, a Democrat from Florida, has been a supporter of Barack Obama’s big government policies.  The Florida Senator supported both of President Obama’s stimulus bills.  “Bill Nelson has never met one of President Obama’s big government spending bills that he didn’t like, and today’s vote is just another example of his reckless spending record,” National Republican Senatorial Committee spokesman Jahan Wilcox said.

Yet for someone who loves spending, Nelson doesn’t like paying taxes as much as you may expect.  Thanks to a Florida tax law, Nelson is able to get out of paying $43,000 annually by housing six cows on his property.

Hypocrises of Barack Obama – Super PAC

By Charles Keegan

President Barack Obama has been clear in his opposition to Super PACs, which are outside groups that fund campaigns. He previously called them “a threat to democracy”, and condemned them during his State of the Union Address. During his speech the President said, “Last week, the Supreme Court reversed a century of law that I believe will open the floodgates for special interests, including foreign corporation, to spend without limit in our elections. Don’t think an American elections should be bankrolled by America’s most powerful interest, or worse, by foreign entities”.
